Broadway Calls

In Uncategorized on August 24, 2009 at 2:23 pm

As a result of one person voting that I should have my own musical, I’ve gone and written it, only joking, but if I did, it would be very indie and glittery, I always imagine my life as a film though, a cool indie film, not a musical, there are more practicalities with theatre, like it’s hard to fit a motorway on stage and do interesting artsy shots, like the crane shots they seem to be so fond of on Neighbours at the moment.

In other news, I have twitter now, my username is sugaland_tx which I think Livvi may understand, so hopefully that makes her feel “in the know”. Thank you everyone who told me well done for my exam results, it gave me a nice warm fuzzy feeling. However there is the comedown. When I worried that “all [I] ever do with my life is just photosynthesise” I am worried about this, and feel perhaps Frank Turner should have a guide on how to do more with your life on his FAQs page.

Also, using “in other news” for its true purpose, the idea of Suga: the musical was stolen from ‘Parisa the musical’ which will open first and be a resounding success. Aren’t I good at saying the right thing?

Yesterday we went to Bluewater in Kent [I always forget that Kent is south of Essex, I somehow think it is near North-West London] and I got a lovely skirt from H&M, it’s grey and to me seems quite 50s, I love the 50s full skirts style, but for that you need a proper waist, I’m kind of straight up and down and then some hips, well anyway they had sizes 8, 10 and 14 so I got a 10 but now I worry it’s too tight, it puts a lot of pressur on my midriff/ribs. But everyone is always telling me I must be a 10, and I wonder, is this because a) they are deluded and see me as thin just because I don’t eat much in front of them, b) I am deluded and I actually am thin, just too stupid to accept the nice compliments, c) the way I dress makes me look thinner than I am… alright that’s enough thinking about that

I have these weird insect bites on my legs, they are very itchy and red and the pharmacist gave me some cream but it didn’t work too well so I went to the doctor today who gave me a different cream

I woke up at about 3:40 this morning cause I was hungry and itchy, I went downstairs had three biscuits and some juice and watch Virgin Cooks and Underage and Pregnant on BBC3, then went back to bed.

Broadway Calls is not a song lyric, but the name of a punk band

Oh dear! I think I forgot to add tags to some of my posts… bad! I like tags!

Love Will Set Your Soul On Fire

Song of the day. I don’t really like their look, but their sound is good.

I Face The Horizon, The Horizon Is My Home

In Uncategorized on August 20, 2009 at 7:29 pm

watch. I was at the Banquet show.

In other news : AS results today, OMG 3 As! I was so sure I’d get a B for french, and I got 100 for the two maths modules I sat, shame I didn’t get full marks overall for computing, but I am very pleased with my lot. Just GCSEs to worry about now.

The Day I Died Was The Best Day Of My Life by Just Jack is a good song

I have discovered strawberry kiwi and orange chupa chups, not yet tried one, they are from Switzerland

I’ve been eating lots

Quick Poll:

So how is everyone? I’ve been trying to do some summer work, as well as find a lab coat, and I need to buy more clothes for 6th form, this is hard as I am so fussy, also, comfortable shoes, the ones my mum made me take on holiday hurt my toes like hell and were loose at the back, she should’ve let me take my comfy but scruffy old trainers

I like the weather when it’s like this, grey clouds AND blue sky behind AND a nice sunset-y lighting on the trees in my garden

I will allocate some more time to blogging later, I hope

The Beat! The Beat!

In Uncategorized on August 4, 2009 at 3:20 pm

I do like that song [Beat Control by Tilly and the Wall] I’ve been imagining it in my head and doing the gapevine spontaneously in my living room, like the kids in the video

Dakota by Stereophonics is on in the background, it seems a bit timeless now

So my life has been pretty uneventful, the best discovery i made was that bright orange hair with a bright orange t-shirt on can look cool [i went ice skating, and lal the locals who were great at it seemed to be there] I’ve always wanted my own pretty, white ice skates, and to be able to be effortlessly graceful, y’know? Anyway, don’t know if I can sustain it long enough to do for my DofE, which I STILL haven’t finished

“in other news” I’m writing a personal statement, as a form of self-torture cause there’s no homework, only joking, it’s cause I’m going to this conference thingy, it’s rather hard isn’t it? [I'm trying to write a proper one]

22 by Lily Allen is a good song. But it’s a bit sad if you start to wonder if you’ll end up like that.

I should paint my nails, I’m so bad at painting my nails, no coordination

Also Frank Turner’s new single is on the radio, you can hear it on myspace. go listen!

Do You Have A Story, Do You Have A Story For Me?

In Uncategorized on July 18, 2009 at 7:15 pm

I shall begin with some lovely music:

Lisa Mitchell is pretty awesome, Neapolitan Dreams was good too

In other news, work experience is over, the kiddies all signed a thank you card for me, they’re so sweet :)

i ordered all the textbooks I was told to buy for next year – this came to a tola of almost £80, i hope they’re worth it

I made lemonade today, as it is the first day of Holidays Proper, and it tastes nice, i like putting lots of sugar in it. I also had a magic cola chupa chup today, that was nice too. I need better adjectives, let’s make a list of good synonyms:

  • good
  • wonderful
  • fantastic
  • lovely
  • marvellous
  • wond’rous
  • scrumptious
  • satisfactory
  • tasty
  • delicious
  • refreshing
  • magical

Okay I’m bored, let’s stop there, my neck and shoulder on the right side feela  bit sore today, perhaps I slept on them funny

I’m rereading McCarthy’s Bar by Pete McCarthy at the moment [Oh wow, I have just realised how grammatically lax my posts are, I forget to capitalise "I"s sometimes, and I often don't end sentences or ideas with full stops, oh well, it's spelling I'm obsessed with, but I don't even read the posts through to check for errors, this blog should be considered as a portal to my mind, which is a bit messy itself] it is a really funny book because of lots of in-jokey references and also McCarthy has a humorous style of writing

Well, that’s all folks, whenever I actually come to blog, all the things I meant to blog about seem to disappear from my head… well, quick shout out to people:

  • Jess – get well soon, we all like your late night blog posts
  • Livvi – thank you for calling me adorable :)
  • All my many readers(!) – ooh, hello!

I Could Have Danced All Night

In Uncategorized on July 14, 2009 at 5:18 pm

As I told Alice, my musicality’s returning, so here is some obscure music I heard on tv for you

http://www.myspace.com/katieherzig Forevermore, it was on One Tree Hill yesterday, it’s a beautiful song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bfseWNmlds Sleepyhead by Passion Pit, was on a Fiver advert, it’s different to my usual stuff, but still cool

in other news… it was Livvi’s birthday a few days ago, did i blog that already? if not, just to say, it was fun, and i realised all i need in a relationship is regular mixtapes :P

also i bought some belgian chocolate seashells from the supermarket yesterday, cause i’m a fat, greedy kind of person, they were lovely

today is Bastille day, over and out.

And Whatever Else May Be, May My Friends Remember Me

In Uncategorized on July 11, 2009 at 12:46 pm

Last night was our Year 11 prom, that was fun, cause I saw a lot of my lovely friends and they were all dressed up. Except now all the photos on facebook, along witht he yearbooks we got yesterday make me feel too nostalgic and sad things have to change, but at least I’m in an appreciative mood.

My feet kinda hurt now, and most of the music was too urban for my liking :p But i predicted some of the tracks pretty well too, and there was some cool stuff. What I found funny was my friends are all so different when it comes to musical tastes, yet they were all dancing.

Oh yeah, I had work experience this week, at a hospital, so mainly confidential, the other work experience kids were nice and they waited for me while i ate my lunch everyday, i can’t find one of them on facebook yet but we said we’d all add each other

It’s a nice sunny day today, or should i say: #it’s a lovely sunny day# Alice said she called dibs on marrying frank turner, and alice will probably succeed in playing guitar

I got my hair cut a while ago, it’s shorter now, but still not short at all, people told me they liked it which was nice of them

I think that’ll be it for now.

I wanna scream I love you from the top of my lungs

In Uncategorized on June 30, 2009 at 5:28 pm

Today whilst everyone else was out I did some singing, as loud and as good as I could, Suzy used to make a point of liking my singing, I think I’ve just about given up that dream, i mean, I can’t pull off the obligatory hotpants =P

But it was nice to sing a bit, I need some nice songs to sing, things that I can sing well with nice lyrics that are beautiful

Maybe I should take Frank Turner’s advice and “Try This At Home” [on the new album, gonna be awesome]

So I had some ice cream today, still haven’t made any lemonade

A Day of the Triffids BBC remake is going to be shown soon! exciting!

And I’ve done all my maths summer work now. I need to buy a lab coat for science, I wonder if they let you have nice pretty coloured ones instead of plain white? I’ve also been researching the scandalous lives of physicists a bit, for Alice, and have discovered they are a very tame lot, why that drama queen likes it is therefore a mystery

I don’t know what to get Livvi for her birthday… I shall have to check the usual birthday presents store, they used to have one in Kingston, but it closed down, oh well, they still have one is Greeny Green Ealing

This new white paper about schools sounds a bit formidable, sounds like it’s harder to become a teacher…

I told you so

In Uncategorized on June 28, 2009 at 6:37 pm

So I haven’t blogged for a while, people actually told me to update [aw, how sweet, they care :) ] and I got alt text :D

Today we went to a wedding, and I wore a red bow barette in my hair, technically a clip, so, y’know, things went wrong, on the way home our car broke down and we had to wait on the A4 for some tow truck, which towed the car home and took us home too, and I had my uncomfortable apple jelly sandals on. We were late to the wedding before this as well, but it didn’t matter so much, lots of other people were late too, it was a big wedding.

I think I want a small wedding, I’ll only invite people who I know will care about me getting married, people who know me well? I’ve already promised Ellie she can come, she’s never been to one. I need to get married, I need to change my surname, although this morning on Breakfast they were talking about how feminists did not fight for the right to keep maiden names just so we can all carry on changing our names when we get married, and about how double-barrelled surnames may nlead to quadruple-barrelled surnames. I think I’ll miss my name a little bit though, the being different, the moaning I get to do about it, the yelling at people who don’t acknowledge that names can be longer than 15 characters, if i had a middle name I could maybe have a name longer than the alphabet, oh how wonderfully special that would be…

It was the art show a few days ago and it was nice to see people and people’s families, and marvel at how high some of the paintings were hung up.

I got made a prefect last week as well. How on earth did that happen? Everyone has confirmed my worry that the only reason I applied was so I could get a job looking after the Year 7s, but Goldie got this job, and Goldie will be brilliant at it I know so well done her! I’m just worried about whether I will now not enjoy the rest of my duties much, although I mustn’t moan as I’m lucky to have been picked, and some of my friends didn’t :(

I’m wearing mascara today so my eyelashes are lovely and stiff, maybe I should start wearing Real make up one day, with like concealer and foundation and stuff, any thoughts, ooh! how about a poll?

I’m wearing nail polish again, my mother told me to put some on for the wedding, also on the way there we saw a car with the same two-tone colour effect as the skirt of my half-sari

I’m listening to Bloc Party, it’s nice background music

OH! also, as i was adding tags, just remembered, I saw Frank Turner at Banquet Records on friday :) his new songs are good, he was busy doing 24 hours of gigs though, so there was only time for a few songs, still awesome

One Short Blog

In Uncategorized on June 15, 2009 at 8:37 pm

Today I did art, of my own accord, sure, it was just splattering pink and silver paint over a canvas, witht he plan to draw some charcoal umbrellas on later, but it was art, i also did a few charcoal doodles, well i’ve recovered from the trauma of art coursework remarkably quickly.

The other out of character thing: I doubt i’ll finish my book of the day today, just as well as I need to get out more

Song of the Day: 21 Guns by Green Day, it’s awesome

1 good thing: my mother bought me white bread even though she moans that white bread is bad, cause she doesn’t want me to die, she said she’d rather i was obese than starving, hm…
